***Please note this is the latest update as of 15.06.2022 at 14:00 – this has also been shared by email but there are issues with UNISON’s server and members therefore may receive delayed emails with contradicting information***
We know many of you saw the VC’s email last week, where it was stated that the University would be meeting with UNISON to discuss what would need to be offered for us to call off our strike action next week. We met with the University today at 12 and there is an offer on the table. It is not a simple, one-line offer, so we are holding a members meeting tomorrow, Thursday 16 June, 12:30 – 1:30pm (Meeting Link) to talk through the offer rather than sending the details via email.
We would urge you to attend if you can – we apologise for the short notice of this meeting, but we only received the offer a couple of hours ago. We will talk through the offer, what it means for members, how this affects our current mandate (which ends in 3 weeks) and a quick update on the upcoming postal ballot for strike action for the 22/23 pay offer of 3%. We are more than happy to answer questions at the meeting tomorrow as best we can and we will then hold a vote on whether to accept this offer and call off next week’s strike action or reject the offer and continue our action next week.
If you can share this meeting link with other members, we would be grateful – we know some members are still experiencing delays in receiving our emails.
We need as many of you to attend as possible to vote on this offer, so if you don’t normally attend member meetings, please consider attending this one. The meeting is over lunchtime to hopefully let as many members as possible attend.
We hope to see you at the meeting tomorrow.
