Here is a round-up of our latest news:

Member Meetings – PAY – we have two member meetings next week, at which we’ll be discussing the current pay consultation for this year (1.5% offer) and also talking through the upcoming industrial action ballot for last year’s 0% pay freeze “offer”.  It would be great to see you there:

Trinity Members – Monday, 14 June 12:30 – 1pm Meeting Link
All Members – Tuesday, 15 June 12:30 – 1:30pm Meeting Link

If you have any questions about either pay ballot, you can send them to

Pay Consultation – 21/22 – the current pay consultation is now open to members to vote online on the employer’s offer of 1.5% for most staff (lower grade staff have been offered up to 3.6% on a sliding scale).  You should have received an email with a link for you to vote online but if you have not yet voted, you can vote online here.  You will need your membership number or your national insurance number, surname and date of birth to verify your membership.  The Branch and UNISON’s HE Service Group Executive are asking members to vote to REJECT this offer.  As inflation rises, this will be yet another pay cut in real terms, as has been the case over the past 10 years.  You and your colleagues have worked exceptionally hard in very difficult circumstances over the past 16 months to keep the University open and this hard work and dedication should be reflected by a decent and fair pay rise.  Your vote can make a huge difference and force the employer back to the negotiating table, so please use your vote.  Voting closes on Friday, 18 June, 2021

Your Medical Data – Did you know that the government will soon allow the NHS to sell your confidential medical data to insurance companies, tech companies and other private enterprises?  You can choose to opt out of this by completing a form to send to your GP by 23 June, 2021. More details on this misuse of your medical data, including the form to complete to opt out and a petition against this sale can be found here.

EU Settled Status – the deadline for applying for settled status in the UK is 30 June, 2021.  You can find further details on the scheme and how to apply here.
