Here are our updates from this week:

  • Pay Consultation 2021 – thanks to everyone who voted in the online consultation for 2021’s 1.5% pay offer which ended last week.  We are awaiting the final results to see how many members voted and what they voted for, so we will keep you updated as soon as we receive the results.  The HE Service Group Executive will be meeting shortly to discuss the results and make a decision on whether to push for a strike ballot
  • Strike Ballot Begins 28 June (UoL and LAU only) – following on from the pay consultation, the ballot for strike action for 2020’s 0% pay offer opens on Monday and you will receive a postal vote next week.  This is a different vote to the one we have been asking you to complete online and so it is really important that you vote in the postal ballot as well.  Your postal vote will be sent out on Monday, 28 June, so there’s still time to check/update your address at My UNISON.  The postal ballot is open until 10 August, 2021, and we will be sending out lots of info to you alongside two online member meetings.  You can also ask any questions by contacting your local rep or emailing unison@leeds.ac.uk.  All members will also be contacted by reps individually about voting, so please look out for the email.  When you have voted, please can you let us know at unison@leeds.ac.uk and you will be removed from Regional and National communications about the ballot, although you will still receive general Branch communications about the ballot voting.
  • Members Meeting 29 June, 12.30 – 1.30pm – we will be holding a special strike ballot members meeting, for everyone working at the University of Leeds and Leeds Arts University.  The meeting will allow for you to ask any questions you may have about the strike ballot and we will have someone from the Regional Office in attendance to answer questions too. You can ask questions in the meeting or submit them beforehand by emailing unison@leeds.ac.uk.  Here is the Meeting Link,we hope to see you on Tuesday! 
  • Recruitment – following on from the success of our May recruitment event, we have decided to extend the offer through June and July as well!  If you recruit a new member up to and including 31 July, 2021, you will receive £25 and the new member will get their first 3-months’ subscriptions refunded.  You can recruit as many members as you like, just make sure to let us know who you’ve recruited by emailing unison@leeds.ac.uk and we’ll do the rest!  If you’ve recruited anyone since 1 June, 2021, let us know.
