Here is our latest branch news:

2022 Pay Consultation

This week, the online consultation for this year’s pay offer has started. You should have received an email from UNISON with a link to vote. If you have not received this email by early next week, you can go online here to vote: you will be asked for a few details to verify your identity (including your membership number – if you don’t have this, please email the branch at ). Members at LUU are not covered by national pay bargaining and so won’t receive an email to vote.

This 3% offer (9% for the lowest grades, which includes 5.8% National Minimum Wage uplift) is a further insult to all of us. In the current climate, 3% will go nowhere near to covering the cost of living rises that we are all facing. Instead, it will leave many members struggling to use energy in their own homes, to put food on the table and to afford anything other than the very basics. We don’t believe that any workers should struggle like this.
We are urging all members to vote to REJECT this offer. The strike action at University of Leeds over the last few months and elsewhere in the UK has made a difference – they’ve offered us more than we were expecting. This shows the money is there to spend on staff.
Let us know you’ve voted by emailing

Living Wage Employers List 2022

The new list of accredited Living Wage employers has landed and you can find the full list here. You can search for HE institutions and you’ll see that University of Leeds and Leeds Arts University are notable in their absence. It is shameful that in 2022, these two institutions cannot commit to paying a living wage to their staff. We will be campaigning on this issue in the coming months.
