We’re pleased to announce that the Branch Education Fund has been re-opened for part-time courses running from January to Easter 2020. The course you choose can be almost anything – photography, learning a language, acting, dancing, art, writing, yoga, counselling, learning an instrument, singing, circus skills – the possibilities are endless! – as long as the course is NOT work-related then we’ll consider funding it*.

How to apply
We have a limited number of places, so just complete the form (see below) and send it back to the Branch Office by post or email it straight to the branch (unison@leeds.ac.uk). We will pay fees direct to the institution you have chosen and all you have to do is register for your place and look forward to starting your new course. If you have already booked and paid for your place, we will consider reimbursing you for the fees.

To give you a head start on choosing a course, here are links to various institutions around Leeds and the surrounding areas:

LOGIK Centre
Leeds City College
Leeds College of Music (LCoM are running a range of courses which Leeds College of Art and Design previously ran)
Leeds Beckett University
Bradford College
Swarthmore Centre

Please note: as members of staff on Grades 2-4 can also access the University’s Learning for Life fund, details of which can be found here, any eligible applications we receive will be passed on to the Learning for Life team and we can also consider jointly fund courses alongside Learning for Life funding. Please also note: LUU and Bright Beginnings staff are not eligible for Learning for Life, so please apply to us for any courses.

If you have any questions, please contact the Branch Office on 0113 3435900 or email: unison@leeds.ac.uk

We look forward to seeing the range of interesting courses you decide to take!
