We hope you and yours are well. The planned return to campus is continuing, but as per the email from Roger Gair last week, there is no change for the majority of staff – we will continue to work from home. Here’s some information which may be useful:
- Return to Campus (University of Leeds) – there have been no major updates over the past week, but TU Safety Reps will be returning to campus in the coming days to start their involvement in walk rounds to check the safety of buildings and areas which will be re-opened in the coming weeks. If you are currently on furlough and your manager contacts you to ask you to return, please ensure they have given you 5 days’ notice of return. If you have any concerns about returning, please let us know at email@example.com
- Mental Health Support – this is difficult time for all of us, but there is support out there which you can access, along with the University’s Staff Counselling Team. Here are some links, but this is not an exhaustive list: MIND (has a list of services available), Andy’s Man Club Leeds, Samaritans, Mindwell (for women and non-binary people), Shout (support for LGBTQ+ people), SANE
- Online Events – You can still enjoy the Durham Miner’s Gala (11 July 2020) and the Tolpuddle Martyrs Event (17-19 July 2020) this year, but online! Click the links for further details on how to register.
- Shielding Workers – following the announcement from the government that those who are currently shielding can return to work in early August, we have requested the University let us know whether they will be changing their advice to employees who are currently shielding. We will keep you updated.
