Unison members in care, the NHS and other vital public services have risen to the challenge of dealing with this pandemic.

But many feel they are forced to put themselves in harm’s way every time they go to work because this government is not keeping its promises on personal protective equipment (PPE).

Staff are not the only ones at risk – their families and the people they care for are for are also in danger.

Promises won’t cut it any more: we need action.

The petition demands that Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the UK government do more to ensure that:

  • Every worker has the right to a risk assessment;
  • There is enough PPE for every worker who needs it, in line with the risk assessment and formal guidance;
  • There is proper training in infection control and use of PPE for every worker who needs it.
